COVID 19 RESTAURANT & CUSTOMER SAFETY PROTOCOL

OUR TOP PRIORITY IS THE WELL-BEING OF OUR STAFF AND CUSTOMERS

Effective August 24, masks or face shields that cover the nose and mouth will be worn by all staff inside our restaurant and are required for all customers when entering, exiting, and moving around the restaurant. (For example: Using the washroom.)

Combined with arranging our spaces to ensure physical distance, and our enhanced sanitation measures, these policies comply with the Special Measures Order issued by the Chief Medical Officer of Health in Newfoundland and Labrador.

We encourage you to make a reservation. You can book online by clicking below, or call us at (709) 739-4766. While seated at your table, individuals/bubbles do not have to wear a mask. Please bring your own mask. If you forget, we have disposable non-medical masks available for you.

If you have a rare exemption from wearing a mask, for the safety of our staff and fellow customers we would be happy to prepare your order for take out or have your order delivered through DoorDash.

To keep yourself and others safe we ask that you:

Please arrive as close to on-time as possible. This enables us to avoid congestion and distancing challenges near the entrance.

Please respect all distancing requirements.

Please follow signage and stickers on the floor.

A reminder: Wearing a non-medical mask in the community is not a substitute for physical distancing and hand washing.

SOME OF THE MANY WAYS WE’RE KEEPING YOU SAFE

  • All food is washed and prepared with precautions. Our food safety is compliant with current standard, and kitchen leaders have food handler certifications

  • Tables will be spaced and distanced, with minimum 2 metre separation

  • We have signs on the floor for direction, to enable you to keep safe distances from other guests

  • Our washrooms are now one person only, and we’re using enhanced cleaning processes

  • All tables will have hand sanitizer available for your use if you so choose. We also have extra gloves and masks should you need some while dining with us

YOUR GYPSY TEA ROOM EXPERIENCE, FOR NOW

  • Ideally, book in advance. If there is space available, we can accommodate walk-ups.

  • Our hostess will be outside on nice days, and just inside the entrance otherwise.We’ll have signage outside to provide information on process.

  • Upon entrance, the hostess will direct you to your table.

  • Each available table will be spaced a minimum of 2 metres apart, and the maximum number of guests per table will be 6 - unless you’re in the same bubble.

  • We’ll have no-touch menu options only: boards with the menu will be posted in the restaurant, and our wine and cocktail menus and food menus are on our website.
